Some of the best things to do depend on what trick you are doing. The best thing to do for most tricks and it is a universal skill, keep talking while you do the trick. Also if you the trick involves you locating a random chosen card, and it involves a sleight, then just ask them what their card was 99% of the time they will look at you when they respond. Its usually in the misdirection to so always keep the hand you are not doing the sleight with, out in the open and doing something that will attract their attention. i just learned a sleight its really easy and really effective. First you have to flip over the top cand and seceretly do a double lift so that two cards are back to back and shake your hand while holding the two corners diagnoly then while shaking hand back an foreth turn the back to back cards around covering the small action with the large action and it appears that the card has magicly changed
